About this Site

The Michigan State ID Card Resource Center was developed by the Center for Civil Justice in collaboration with Legal Aid of Western Michigan and the Michigan Poverty Law Program. This website was made possible with generous support from the Detroit Safe Communities Collaborative (DSCC). The DSCC was formed in 2007 to extend the work of the many Detroit focused foundations and their long commitment to working with the community to enhance safety for residents, businesses and visitors. The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan serves as the organizational home for the DSCC.

The DSCC includes the following foundations:

The organizations involved in developing this site do not have the staff resources to provide one-on-one help for people trying to get Michigan ID cards. We suggest you find an organization in your area that helps people get IDs. To find help, click here.

If you are with an agency, church, community group, or other organization that helps people obtain ID cards, we welcome your comments, suggestions, and ideas on how we can improve this site. We want this site to be useful for you and your co-workers, clients, and volunteers. We are also interested in learning more about what barriers keep people from getting a State ID. You can fill out our survey, or you can write the Center for Civil Justice at michid@ccj-mi.org.
