Is A State ID Required?
A State ID card may not be necessary to get help from the Michigan Department of Human Services if your client has other proof of identity.
If your client is offered a job, an employer may also be able to use other forms of identification.
Sex-offenders do need a State ID card or Driver's License. If they don't have one yet, they should keep a record of everything they are doing to get an ID card.
