My client lost an ID that was issued in the past 4 years

If your client had a valid Michigan ID or license issued in the last 4 years it is still considered "current".  In this case your client should ask for a replacement ID.  They will only need one or two original documents to show who they are (identity) and their social security number.

Your client can prove their identity for a replacement ID by using:

•    A “certified birth certificate with a raised seal issued by a U.S. or state government”
•    School Records from the public schools the client attended.
•    A government picture ID, such as a prison ID card

Proving Social Security Number:

•    A Social Security Card
•    NUMI lite print out from Social Security Office.
